About

Cadukeya is a female soloartist based in Dortmund, Germany. Since many years she is a songwriter, singer and guitarplayer who has a huge repertoir of songs.

The name “Cadukeya” was born in the year 2005. It is derived from “Caduceus”, a symbol that shows two snakes that are entwined around a staff. There are different Greek myths that hide behind this symbol: the myth of the blind prophet Tiresias or the myths of the god Hermes. However, Fatima, born in the Year of the Snake, referred to this symol by creating a new name: Cadukeya. With this, she gave it a female and personal touch, as now the new created name stands for her music.

Cadukeya´s songs can be described as melancholic, dark and emotional with elements of metal and gothic rock. The expression “Dark Rock” would fit her music well, though Fatima is not focused on a certain genre.

In the early  90ies Fatima started to write her own songs, that were inspired by her own melancholic mood and by the music of the band The Cure, who could reflect her mood perfectly for many years. Especially the album “Disintegration” influenced her much.

Since that time and over the years she wrote many songs, mostly acoustic versions, where she sang along with her guitar. Her vision was to record these songs and to make them complete with all instruments that were needed. Finally, in 2005, it became possible for her to start to digitally record her songs.
